And welcome back to another episode in the series “How To Conquer Your SmartPhone 101.” In this episode we will be teaching you how to set up a Google and Gmail account. Grab that cup of stuff, a seat and your SmartPhone and let’s get started.
What Is A Gmail Account
Gmail is a free email service provided through Google. When you sign up for a gmail account you are automatically signed up with Google.
Although you do not have to have a Gmail or Google account to operate your SmartPhone, you will need it to help make updating your phone easier.

What Is A Google Account
For beginners the Google account is mainly used to access the Google Play Store. You can download onto your phone a variety of programs/apps (short for applications) that can make your life easier or for entertainment. In other words, you can download a Day Planner app like Cozi or a game like Spider Solitaire or a program like Ccleaner.
According to Google Support a Google profile is only necessary if you want to share publicly or use Google+. A profile helps you communicate with the people you know from a variety of Google products — for example, sharing driving directions from Google Maps or sharing a video from YouTube. Your Google profile lets you control the details you share about yourself, not only on Google+ but through services like Gmail and Web Search.
What If You Change Your Mind
Google Support states that you do have the option to delete your Google profile at any time. After you’ve created your account, you can remove your Google profile and associated Google+ features through My Account. You can also download your data, including your profile, photos, and contacts, to your computer if you want a copy of it.
